About Startup Expo 2023
The U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) Office of Investment and Innovation (OII) featured winning startups and 4 finalists with technology developed through the Small Business Innovation Research or Small Business Technology Transfer (SBIR/STTR) programs, presenting their work at the America’s Seed Fund Startup Expo.
SBA plays a substantial role in the Federal Lab-to-Market ecosystem, serving as the hub of the SBIR/STTR programs – also known as America’s Seed Fund. These programs are an important resource for a wide range of researchers, innovators, inventors, entrepreneurs, and startups working on big ideas.
Competition Goals:The main objectives of America’s Seed Fund Startup Expo are to showcase innovative small businesses supported by America’s Seed Fund and to connect these startups with resources that enable their ability to scale, grow, and thrive.
The competition also amplifies U.S. public awareness for the commercialization of critical innovation necessary for our continued competitiveness in the global marketplace, and for the entrepreneurship that creates jobs and drives forward the U.S. economy.
Prize:
The prize offered for the competition was selection to present publicly at the America’s Seed Fund Startup Expo event planned for May 15, 2023. The Startup Expo event was held on a virtual platform, allowing for the public to attend and participate, and providing broad exposure to the startup. There is no monetary prize.
